OUR WHY
Every Day...
Dogs lose their lives for no good reason.
Unfortunately, dogs are euthanized daily in shelters across the country. Dogs who still have plenty of love to give are simply "put down."
Additionally, many dogs locally need a new place to call home.
Dogs need help:
Shelters are overpopulated
Overwhelmed owners who don't have enough time
They've been lost, abused, or neglected
They act "inconveniently" for their owners
OUR PURPOSE
Love has no timeline...
Rescue Love was created to save and improve the lives of Dogs.
Our Hearts are for the dogs and the
goal is to find the perfect family for each of the dogs we meet or save.
We do this in three primary ways:
We provide a network of foster homes for dogs to remove them from the "kill list" until they can find their forever home
We help match dogs with loving homes for life
We raise funds to cover the expenses of transporting dogs out of "kill states" to our facility for fostering and re-homing

Foster a Dog
Sometimes our rescued dogs just need a comfortable place to land while in transition.
Please consider signing up to be a foster home for dogs that are rescued from euthanasia, but haven't yet found their forever home.
Adopt a Dog
After enduring major upheaval, our rescue dogs need loving, accepting homes to call their own.
Please consider signing up to adopt one of our rescues. We will take extra care to be sure you are a good match for one another.
Support a Dog
Unfortunately, it costs more to save the life of a rescue dog than to end it.
Please consider supporting our efforts by contributing whatever you can on a one-time or recurring basis. All contributions are tax-deductible.

Are we meant to be?
Lucas
Lucas is a ball of energy and loves to be on the move all the time. He hikes, runs, swims, and more. If you are looking for a dog who would love to share your adventures, Lucas is your guy. He is friendly, loves people, plays well with dogs, not aggressive (don't know about cats) and he's looking to be your best friend and adventure buddy.
Abe
Abe is a 1 1/2 year old Cattle Dog mix. He was scheduled to be euthanized at a California high kill shelter when we stepped it. He is a super sweet boy and pretty relaxed. He is good with other dogs. He loves to play and be next to his humans. He is potty trained as well. Abe is currently in a foster home in California but will be to our rescue soon.
Yoshi
Yoshi is a Catahoula Cur who will pick you for his family if you are the right fit. He was very attached to his dad, who is now in a retirement home situation, and a little tentative about some people. Staff is working with him to be more accepting of others and he is very smart. The minute he warms up to you, he's your best friend. So if you are patient, you have room for him to run and you want a dog who is extremely loyal - he is the 70 pounds of love your life needs
Oreo
Oreo is a 3 year old Pitbull mix. She was hours from being killed at the shelter when we saved her. She is a very sweet girl and loves to snuggle up. Good with dogs big and small. She is fully potty and kennel trained. She is medium energy. While she loves her walks/jogs, she knows when it's time to be calm and relax. She knows various commands. She is good with children as well. Oreo needs a home with no cats. Oreo has been in the facility with her best friend Wiggles for a number of months now. It would be great if they could find a home together.
10.6.2026 Wiggles and Oreo are going to a foster home for their trial. We will still take applications for back up.
Pippi
Pippi was rescued when she was just a pup. She lived a life of luxury and love, but due to unforseen circumstances, her owner had to surrender her. She is a 12 year old very healthy girl. She gets along with other dogs, has lots of energy for walks, but her favorite past time is to cuddle and soak up attention. Pippi's DNA shows she is 35% Chihuahua, 18.6% Bichon Frise, 14.9% Havanese, 8.3% Dachsund, 8.2% Mini Pinscher, 7.3% Pekenise and 8.2% super mutt including Cocker Spaniel and Pomeranian. A great Mix if there ever was one.
Grace
We call her Grace - she was rescued from the desert wiith her sister Hazel. They were a little thin and timid when they came to us, hence they are obsessed with food. Very treat motivated which makes foor easy training. Hazel is going home with her furever family on the 15th so we would love to find that perfect match for Grace as well. She is a 6 month old puppy - chihuahua and terrier is our best guess - and she is SOOOO fun! All that puppy energy, plus she loves to be held. She will make a great family pet and she is young enough to get along with cats

Pepper
Pepper is about 8 months old. She was rescued after being abandoned in the desert in California. She came to us with her sister, Honey. Honey is adopted and Pepper needs her own forever family.
She is still a bit shy, but plays well with all dogs, loves to run and go on walks, is learning basic commands. She is just about crate trained, but has accidents every once in a while. She would love a family with kids!
Sophie
Sophie is a year old bundle of energy. She was rescued by a loving home, but needed to be surrendered when circumstances left her alone too much of the time. She loves to play, she is learning commands, she loves children, and is so excited to go on hikes, have some family time and just cuddle up with her people. She won't get any bigge than her medium size right now so she may be your perfect fit.
Mokie
Mokie was surrendered by his aged owner. He is a 11 year old 8 pound bundle of love who is still in great health. Mokie loves his people and is content to follow them around, play in the yard, go on a walk or just cuddle. He is crate trained but prefers to be free to wander. In typical Shih Tzu fashion, he is in confident, inquisitive - and he is convinced he is in charge. You won't find a more loving companion.
Pistachio
Pistachio is a 7 week old Chihuahua. She came up from an abandonment situation with her sister CC. She's a puppy with a rough start. But she loves people - she is excited every time anyone walks into her vicinity - she is active and FAST! She loves to wrestle wiith her sister and is not afraid of any of the other dogs she plays with. She is always in the mix. Pistachio is the perfect age to join a family who is ready for puppy training. We must say she is very smart and very treat motivated. If you want unconditional love and entertainment, Pistachio and/or CC are your perfect pick.
CC
CC is short for Cookies & Cream!
She came up from an abandonment situation with her sister Pistachio. She's a puppy with a rough start. But she loves people - she is excited every time anyone walks into her vicinity - she is active and FAST! She loves to wrestle wiith her sister and is not afraid of any of the other dogs she plays with. She is always in the mix. CC is the perfect age to join a family who is ready for puppy training. We must say she is very smart and very treat motivated. If you want unconditional love and entertainment, CC and/or Pistachio are your perfect pick.
Macie
You are not even going to believe how sweet Macie is. She was rescued just in the nick of time from a kill shelter in CA. We don't know her previous history, but we do know she is quiet, a little timid, very loving, not reactive and she loves, loves, loves people. Due to her rough start and being in a CA foster with other dogs, it would be perfect if Macie could find a family where she gets all the attention. But, she is socialized so walks, dog parks, and social situations are all fine by her. We think she is about 2 - 3 years old.
Petunia
We know she has Pittie in her, but what else? Petunia's short little legs make us think maybe Bassett, or Corgi. She's about 2-3 years old, fully crate and kennel trained, loves to play and especially likes people who pet her. Her tail constantly wags and every once in a while, she flashes what we call a smile. We don't know her history except she was saved from euthanasia on the last day - we found her just in time. Her whole life has been shelters and rescues, so she is really ready for her best life.
Baby Girl
Baby Girl was in the perfect foster in CA after being saved from the kill shelter. Her foster would have loved to keep her, but the adult kids' dog needed to be the alpha and picked on Baby Girl. She had a great life with that foster mom. She's obviously got pittie in her, but she is taller, maybe shepherd as well? She is pet door trained, crate and kennel trained, knows some commands and is looking for the same kind of love in her new home. She would be great with any family, but a retired couple or seniior companion wouuld be great for this girl with such a mellow personality. She loves to walk, cuddle and just be.
Goldie
Goldie is like a mini German Shepherd. We don't know what else she is mixed with - but whatever it is she inherited a great personality. She was so timid when she came that it took a couple days for her to even warm up with staff. But once she deemed us trustworthy, she shares massive amounts of love. She is kennel trained, knows some commands, is very smart and is motivated by petting and encouraging words. Goldie is about 2 years old, and would make a great family dog who has time for walks, hikes, a backyard or playarea and lots of love to spare.
Wiggles
Wiggles is best friends with Oreo. They came up in the same transport. But when we found out where Wiggles was headed in Montana, we put our foot down and kept her here for her safety. She is 3 years old, loves to hike, play, swim and run. She will love an active family and all that entails. She is fairly well trained, and friendly to all people and most dogs. Every once in a while she will meet a dog that gets on her nerves, but she never hurts, just warns - this is my space. It would be ideal if Oreo and Wiggles could go to the same home - they have become very attached. With these two, two dogs is not too many

This non-profit was established in 2013 to serve unmet needs in a community. Rescue Love fit right in to that
mission.
